Volunteer of the Year Award for District 11

I am honored and humbled that I was elected to receive the Volunteer of the Year award from The Federation of Women's Club District 11 -

11 women out of the State of Florida representing their districts will be presented and honored at The State Convention this coming April 9 to 11 in Orlando. One women will be selected as The Volunteer of the Year for the State . I am so proud to represent women in our district and women in my community and I look forward to this wonderful weekend along my friends and Board members of District 11 and The Coral Gables Women's Club

Going for Surgery again on October 23rd

My dear friends and family:

It is with tears in my eyes that I update my blog - I have to go again for surgery on my right hand (for the 3rd time ) just on that hand because of Rheumatoid Arthritis.
I am determined to continue to make my appearances with even more passion with my cast on. I will be the key not speaker on November 14 2009 at the dade ocunty Arthritis walk

Well

I must say I am getting nervous and I admit I cried today in the hospital and later when I went to see my horse which I love dearly and wont be able to ride for several months.

I went for my pre - registration today for surgery on Friday .

I am usually not as emotional about this. But it is really hitting me on how many surgeries I have had and how much medication I take when they had to keep giving me extra pages to fill out for both. The nurses were also kind of shock when they had to keep giving me extra forms and asking " any more"?

I hope I can count on all of you my pageant family to keep me in your prayers on Friday morning.

I asked today if I could wear some make up. I am determined to take my banner and crown and have this experience documented to view in my blog possibly in video.

I really need to bring awareness and find a cure to this terrible horrible plague that invades my body like an alien and is fighting against me killing me so ever slowly with pain, surgeries and emotional and physical torture one minute at a time for a lifetime.

On a positive note I thank American Image for giving me the crown to work on doing something about it.

I urge all of you to call your Arthritis Foundation Chapter and ask when is the walk and WALK
Walk for all that Cant walk and raise funds for research and someday a CURE !
